Selecta issues

  • I’ve just added a blog post page to my site (have to for a class project) and I’ve just applied the Selecta theme. I enabled both the “latest posts” option and the scrolling sticky posts (for lack of better phrasing).

    I created several “test” posts just to see what these features would look like, but nothing is showing up — not just the posts, but the space where they would be shown on my homepage. Same with the latest posts.

    In addition, the posts aren’t even showing up on my blog page.

    Erm…help?

  • I clicked your username in a effort to find your blog and help you. this was what I experienced:

    The authors have deleted this blog.

    Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question.

    Selecta theme description

    Add a touch of interactivity with your blog while showing off your amazing videos and images by showcasing your Sticky Posts with the featured posts slider. Turn it on in Appearance → Theme Options. After you enable the slider, it will appear at the top of your front page once you mark at least two posts as sticky. If you have just one sticky post, that post will stand on its own at the top of the page.

  • Latest Posts
    Appearance → Theme Options.

    When enabled, it will display your four latest posts in a nice row of rounded boxes just above the main content on the front page (and below the featured posts slider, if you’ve turned that on as well).

  • Sorry about that!

    Home

    I’ve looked at the description and and turned on the slider in the theme options — and I’ve posted two “test” sticky posts.

  • Are you clear on the differences between pages and posts?
    Pages are static and sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot put posts on “pages.” All posts will show on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. If you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site, and also create a “blog” page, but this is optional. The default is all posts displaying on the front page of the blog.
    Are you also clear on setting up static front page?

    What’s the total number of posts you have published in the blog?
    Go here > Settings > Reading and locate Blog pages show at most __posts

  • I see you are now using Fresh & Clean. I use this theme on my personal blog. What’s critical in all cases of using sliders is that the dimensions of the images are exact and they are marked as sticky posts.

    Fresh & Clean can display an optional featured slider on the front page that highlights your Sticky Posts that have a Featured Image at least 840 pixels wide. read the rest here . Fresh & Clean theme description

  • I’m changed back to Selecta, as I’m experimenting with different themes.

    I have created two posts in an effort to get the featured posts slider to appear — both are image posts, both are set to “sticky,” and both have the photo used set to “featured image.”

    Still no featured slider, though.

    Sorry for all the questions :/

  • And now you’re using Blogum…

    Anyway, re the Selecta FP slider:
    – it doesn’t require images;
    – the images it can display are regularly inserted images, not featured images;
    – it’s optional (activated in Appearance > Theme Options);
    – it shows up on your main posts page: it won’t show up on your blog front if you’ve set a static page as your front.

    PS Please correct your username link in Users > Personal Settings: scroll down to Account Details, paste current blog URL in the Website field, click Save Changes.
