Self hosted problems

  1. I've recently moved my wordpress.com site to a self hosted .co.uk site. I'm having two issues here

    1) I've paid for a redirect, however, people are still able to follow and like posts via my wordpress.com site. I'm not quiet sure how traffic is still being directed to that site instead of my primary .co.uk site. Is there a way I can make this blog private? or generally correct this?

    2) There seems to be some sort of glitch regarding wordpress followers. I have transfered my followers to my new domain but I find that sometimes, when I go to my .co.uk website, it has been reset down to a low figure. This means i have to migrate followers again which seems to correct the glitch, however I would prefer to resolve this problem.

The blog I need help with is heyitsleaa.co.uk.

  2. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. 3. Hi there,

    1) I've paid for a redirect, however, people are still able to follow and like posts via my wordpress.com site. I'm not quiet sure how traffic is still being directed to that site instead of my primary .co.uk site. Is there a way I can make this blog private? or generally correct this?

Those are coming through the reader. You could possibly remove all categories and tags from the old site if that bothers you.

Hmm. We have seen cases where you get new WordPress.com followers (again through the reader) that need to be transferred. Not so much about counts resetting though. Can you send more details?

  4. It seems like my .co.uk website keeps featuring the followers from the wrong blog. Instead it often displays the followers from my .com website, instead of the correctly transferred amount who follow my self hosted blog. The only way to temporarily correct the problem is by migrating the followers again. Perhaps this could be a plugin error of some kind?

  5. @helloleaa could you get screenshots of that when it's happening, and also go to wordpress.com and get full screenshots of the stats page to see whether the same numbers are reflected there?

You can upload them to wordpress.com/media for the old site so staff can access them there.

  6. Perfect - I've uploaded them and they are ready to access.

  7. Thanks, right now I see the self-hosted site has many followers. The WordPress.com site has a few.

Are there cases where those numbers are switched or reset?

  8. No problem! I believe it's a matter of switching

  9. OK, if you see the numbers have been switched, can you get screenshots of that?

  10. The numbers never switch in my dashboard - the stats remain correct to the according blog. However, I have a screenshot which show the stats and followers of the WordPress.com site and a screenshot of my .co.uk website displaying the wrong follow count for that blog. Does this make sense? These are uploaded in my media with a description.

  11. Ah! Thank you, I didn't see that third screenshot earlier. That is odd.

If you remove and re-add the widget, does that make any difference?

  12. And does it switch with any rhyme or reason?
