I have very limited knowledge of coding, codex, htlm etc. But I really want to make my own blog with my own domain and features. Since I have never used wordpress.org to make my own site, will it be easy to make my own blog. I already have a wordpress.com blog but I feel its a bit restricting in customisation. Also could I get someone else to set up my blog and then edit it from my laptop?

The blog I need help with is identv.wordpress.com.

I have a few self-hosted WP sites. It’s pretty easy after you get the hang of it. You need to buy web hosting and a domain name first. Then you download wordpress, unzip it and upload it to your account. Then you create a database on your webhosting account. You find a wordpress theme you like and upload it to the wp-content/themes file. There is a lot of info on how to do this all at wordpress.org. There’s a learning curve, but you can learn it okay. Soon you will become an expert. Good luck.

Once you have bought domain and hosting, just go to wordpress.org and download the latest version. Use FTP client to upload and decompress all the files zipped-downloaded. Then configure wordpress with your database. Create account and you are done. I recommend you using net2ftp web-based ftp client which will automatically decompress the files after uploading process is completed.
