Separate themes for separate blogs

  1. I am signed up for two blogs. Every time I have tried to use a different theme for the second blog, the theme for the first blog also changes (to the second blog theme). How can I avoid this.

Please do not write if you cannot resist using abusive language.
    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is

I am a Volunteer and I have been answering questions here for 8 years, usually when logged in under my timethief account. That means I date back to the time when there was a single Support Staff.

Never ever, not even once in the over 3000+ threads I have responded to has what you described ever happened to me or to any other WordPress.COM blogger that I am aware of. The reason for that is clear. Every blog is an independent website and no matter how many blogs are registered under the same username account they remain independent. What's done on one blog has absolutely no effects of any kind whatsoever on any other blogs registered under the same username account.

We do have a forum code of conduct on these peer support forums

Also note what's below every comment box in every thread here:

We love positive and productive discussions, so please keep comments on the topics at hand and not on other members of the community. Thanks!

    You posted this:

Please do not write if you cannot resist using abusive language.

Apparently, you are not aware that posting anything of that nature into any thread here means two things an both look bad on you. (1) You are leaping to the conclusion that others will be abusive (2) by posturing as victim.

Now that we have clarified that what you report is unknown and utterly bizarre behavior, will you please both the URLs for both blogs (websites) so Staff can assist you with this issue. I tagged this thread for their intervention and if you subscribe to this thread so you will be notified when they respond.

  4. When you ask questions in the forum relating to a particular blog or post, please give us the URL starting with http, right up front or we will not be able to help you.

If you don't, I might have to go abusive.

  5. I am interested in creating a site with static pages using 2012 theme. However, after creating two pages, when I click on Setting and then Reading I do not see "Front page display." What am I doing wrong. The address is:

  6. I see you've set a static site now. Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

  7. Thank you very much for replying to my earlier email.
    I have a new issue!
I cannot change the order of the three items in my Menu. They should be "Services", "Rates", "Quality Control". I have tried the drag and drop approach in addition to deleting the three items and starting afresh with no success. Could you help?

    Thank you.

  8. re: changing the order of Pages, not Posts

    There are two approaches.
    1. If you have only pages in your horizontal menu and that' is all you want in it see here to use numerical order.

    2. If you have a custom menu see Creating a Custom Menu
    Adding Pages
Changing the Order & Creating Sub-Menus

Custom menu Troubleshooting – My pages are in the wrong order
Check the sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required.

Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved.

  9. Thank you.

  10. Hi,
I am using Triton Lite theme to build a website. How can I get the three columns it is supposed to have.

    Thank you.

  11. Note that Triton Lite is a theme that is designed to automatically displays front page excerpts followed by read more links. Please consult the detailed theme description page at

The theme has a dynamic featured post area (shown just below the site title on the home page) which is a snap to use: just add big featured images—at least 950 pixels in width and 270 pixels in height—to your Sticky Posts and you are good to go.

  12. None of the links I have to original articles on one of my sites works. Could you help? The site is

  13. 1) The AP will sue you out of existence if they find out you are using their articles without paying them. They are extremely aggressive about hunting down people who do this.

    2) Have you considered writing original material for your blogs?

    3) Until you bring your blog in line with copyright law, we will not be able to help you and your site may be subject to suspension. This means either writing your own material or proving that you have paid the various organizations whose content you are using their demanded rate.

  14. I have checked that. I am not using their articles. This is fair use. Fine.
