Set blog page as landing page

Add topic to favorites
A potential viewer comes to my blog “ericolon.wordpress.com”, sees the newest drunk-beer-post I accidently uploaded, and decides that my entire blog is about jibberish, I lose a potential subscriber. So I want to create a landing page where my blog posts as well as downloads and other content are organisedly listed so the viewer can see what exactly he wants to click on (i have no problem doing that by hand), but when I create/edit a page I can’t see any giant red button for setting it as a landing page (or home page/main page?), so i was wondering if such a feature exists, and if it does, how can I apply it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

* a simple landing page would suffice, not using any fancy themes or anything
