Sidebar appears at bottom of homepage
You probably have an open code tag in the post:
first step to correct this would be:
left column Dashboard–>Settings –>Writing.
at “formating” put a check in the box for “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically “
This might “auto correct” the problem.
This will correct the problem, but not by itself: after you check the option (and click Save Changes, of course), you need to edit the problem post (make any insignificant change such as adding then removing a space) and click Update.
Thank you. It’s all set. This fixed it. It was weird that it just happened today after I made the other change.
If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
@ strugglingwithbipolar —from me.. your welcome and happy blogging.
@panos, true, I had forgotten, that you would have to update the post for the change to take place. Thats helpful in the future, since this is a common subject in the forum to answer.
I’m just going to bookmark this thread, for the future.
Today, when I logged into my blog, the sidebar appeared in the bottom of my homepage. I’m not sure what caused it. I tried to do what you guys described here, but it didn’t work. I thought the last post could be the problem, so I deleted it, but nothing.
If you are referring to the blog linked to your username which is displaying correctly for me in Firefox 5.0.1 then you have a browser issue. See here for how to proceed > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
Thanks for the tip, but it didn’t work. Although I checked in another computer and, as you say, it displays correctly. Another thing I can do with my browser?
