Sidebar Images as Links Not workiing

  • I’m trying to put a linked image in my sidebar. I’m very new to blogging and HTML code. I used the instructions given on how to link images, but it’s not working properly. It’s linking fine, but I’m getting a broken image link and below it, a huge version of my image. I edited it and rotated it in Photobucket, so I don’t understand how it can be showing my un-edited version. Can anyone help? My blog is: http://seemommysew.wordpress.com/
Also, can I add text to this so it’s obvious the picture is a link. In other words, have it say “My Etsy Shop” or some such thing above the picture?
    Thank you so much!

  • You’ll probably need to edit it BEFORE uploading. The Photobucket instructions aren’t carried through when you post, it appears.

Alternately, you can format the widget using the Write Post page. Just go to Write, put the image in, format it the way you want, add any text you want, add any links, and then when it looks the way you want it to, click to the CODE editor and copy all that code. That will keep your size and alignment and everything. Paste that code into the widget. Then you can delete the draft post.

  • You’re welcome. That workaround saves me a ton of work, since I’m too dumb to code things myself.
