Sidebar Images suddenly too large and off-kilter

  1. As often happens, woke up today and our sidebar pics at the top (under "IMJ Truthsayers") were on top of each other and not side to side as they have always been.

    I also sidebar section "What's Been Said" showing who and where the last 10 people have posted is now off-- the type is no longer next to and flush to the Avatar of people posting. Text is almost appearing below each Avatar-- making this section much longer.

    WP has obviously changed something... Again. We have CSS Upgrade... But I have been trying for 2 hours and just can't find the part I need to fin to change things back as they were.

    I am no CSS expert and people that could help are out of town. Any help would be much, much appreciated! or

    Many Thanks,

    The blog I need help with is

  2. I'll flag this to move into the CSS forum, where staff will help you.

  3. Thank you.

  4. To fix the alignment issue, I see that your table css is set to "vertical-align: bottom" so try:

    table {vertical-align: center;}

    The images at the top I am seeing as next to each other, so I don't know if you fixed that or if it resolved independently.

    Good luck!

  5. zandyring, thanks so much for the help.

    I am so lost, where do I find the "table css" so I can make this change?

    Thank you!

  6. You'll need to go to your dashboard, then appearance then custom design.
    Then go to CSS (it's a tab), and enter

    table {vertical-align: center;}

    Then preview, to make sure it looks ok, and then if it does, save and you're all set!

  7. Thanks so much.

    So you know, the two avatars at the top (under "IMJ Truthsayers) are side by side because I made them smaller. That's the only way I could get them back to being side by side.

    I then did exactly what you told me, previewed it and nothing changed.

    The sidebar area "what's been said" still looks off-- as it did when the site changed. The avatars and links to a person's comments are still off kilter-- with the links no longer appearing directly to the side of the avatars of the person commenting.

  8. It is almost as if the width of the sidebar is somehow no longer wide enough to allow the avatars and the text to justify itself as it did before.

  9. The site looks like you got it working - did everything get fixed?

  10. zandyring, Thanks for checking in... But none of the fixes I attempted worked.

    Like you, I woke up to find the site had "magically fixed" itself (the same way it magically screwed up-- even though no one touched the CSS before the problem).

    Unfortunately, we're back to square one-- as the site has again switched back to the unacceptable look... Again, for no reason we can determine.

    If anyone has any ideas, I am ready, willing and able to try anything.

    Thanks again.

  11. I hope you don't mind me interjecting but I saw at least one other thread yesterday about the Twenty Ten theme and the avarat sizes becoming large in the sidebar and Lance (Theme Staff) is working on it now >

  12. Not at all, timethief. Thank you so much for the link.

    I went over to the other thread and posted that the problem is still active.

    They seem to be working on it-- so hopefully we will have a permanent fix soon.

  13. That's great - I hope you get resolution quickly and painlessly! Thanks for the note, @TT.

  14. Nice work

  15. Thanks, Lance!

    And thanks to everyone else who paid attention to this thread.

  16. Hooray! It's fixed. :)
