Sidebar widget no longer showing on mobile template
Please I need help. My sidebars widgets are no longer showing at the buttom of my post when viewing my blog smart android phones and iPhones
This was not the case before, I noticed this just yesterday after changing my theme from fresh and clean to mystique.
What could be the cause. I really love it when my widget are at the button. Please help!
The blog I need help with is unilagadmissionguide.com.
Are you using a responsive layout theme?
Know that responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. If you have a responsive layout theme you go to > Appearance > Mobile and make sure the mobile theme has been disabled.
The layout is not responsive. Am currently using the normal default wordpress jetpack mobile theme which is what I have always been using. But the problem right now is that my sidebar widget which normally appears at the button of the posts is no longer visible.
Am using the same jetpack plugin on self hosted site and it’s still very okay but the one here on wordpress.com just disappeared.
My sidebar widget is still visible on my self hosted site using jetpack but it’s no longer visible here on my hosted site and they are both jetpack
Widgets have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility and check your settings on each widget.
I perfectly understand that expect ver well. And all my selected widget are showing on desktop theme(mystique) but normally as they were before, they are meant to also shows on mobile theme under the posts.
Only my posts are visible on the mobile theme

That sounds like responsive layout behavior to me.

Sorry about the strange blockquoting above. That was an accident.
All right! Thank you
Am completely using the jetpack mobile theme and not a responsive theme
This is actually the problem am facing but the solution given does not apply to wordpress.com blogs. Check out the link below please to understand me properly
I see what you mean, and thanks for the head’s up! I’ve opened a bug report for this, and will keep you posted on its progress.
Thanks so much, you can’t imagine how troubled I am right now cos I really love that default mobile theme but without the sidebar widget at the button like it used to, it becomes useless.
Thanks once again
Hello, any update yet?
Still waiting patiently, thanks.
There’s no update yet. I’ve registered it as a bug, our developers are looking into it, and I’ll let you know when it’s fixed, but I can’t provide a timeline. If it’s very urgent, this issue with the sidebar is specific to Mystique, so using the mobile theme with any similar theme should display your sidebar.
Howdy! Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Unfortunately this is not something that can be easily remedied without disrupting multiple Mystique users. If we change the sidebar so it works with the mobile theme, everyone will lose their widgets.
Our best recommendation is to disable the mobile theme when using Mystique, or switch to a different theme that works with the mobile theme. Sorry for any inconvenience!
