Since November, and in middle of posting videos, something went wrong

  1. Videos and images are NOT formatting correctly. Videos are ALWAYS in thumbnail. Can we FIX this? It seems both the video(s) AND the player(s) are not working- they always are just thumbnails. When readers try to watch, they get error code; player too small.
How do I fix this? What did you do in November of 12 to mess this up?
    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is

  2. If someone can explain to me how to FIX videos so they are normal size, I would really appreciate it. Have been trying to work this out for a good nine months, already!

  3. Please post an active link to an example of what you are referring to.

  4. I see the problem and wonder exactly what the code is that you entered in your latest post. Did you enter this Youube shortcode on a single line:

  5. I just entered that shortcode into my test blog which is also wearing the same theme ie. Greyzed as yours and it's displaying at the maximum displayed image width size.

  6. All of my posts to my blog - or those that contain video- show this tiny player. Here's a link to today's blog:

I think you can see what I am referring to. Tiny video; too small to play in some cases.
    Thanks for your speedy reply!

  7. I've also attempted to post short-links, and just cannot get videos to post normally (normal size.)
I can respond to other's posts and embed video, at full-size, but not in my blog-site, which is frustrating!

  8. Just double-checked.. in my post, it does not include words, "embedded player" and does fit on one line- no spaces before or after the link, either.

  9. Sorry if I was not clear. Go to your latest post. Edit the post and remove the your code your posted. Then post the you tube shortcode I provided above. Change nothing on it and do not remove the square brackets. As it displays on my test blog properly at full size it should do the same on yours.

  10. Thanks, but no. It's still a thumbnail video.
I can open the video and click on full-screen, but that does not always work. I wonder if it has something to do with an issue of not posting a video-still?
I have tried to fix this since 19 November. I posted a video; no problem. When I went back later to add a second video to that post, both went to thumbnail/ and it's been a problem in wordpress (only in my blog) ever since.
I made no changes to settings, at the time, but have tried just about everything since.
-read it had something to do with WP Askimet settings, but for nine months? makes little sense!

  11. I have checked everything I can think to check.
Am I required to purchase this (new) video feature in order to share videos on my blog? If so, I guess it will have to stay with thumbnail-videos.
    But that bothers me.

Is something wrong with my video settings that I am not seeing? If so, WHY can I post videos on others' blogs, but not on my own?

  12. This has nothing whatsoever to do with purchasing an upgrade of any kind. I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  13. Thanks so much for your attempts to help.
    I do have thread tagged..

    much appreciated!

  14. Hi annebeck58, I just went to the blog post you linked to and was able to view the video at the normal size. Here is a screenshot of what I see for that post:

Do you see something different when you visit that blog post? If so, can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service such as Snaggy.

When I browsed through other posts on your blog all of the videos were a normal size, so a screenshot of what you see will help me troubleshoot this problem for you. If you can provide details about your computer setup (your operating system and web browser, including what versions they are) that would also help. Thanks!
