Since the date of my last post readers are not able to post comments of likes.

  1. I have not changed the account settings.

    Blog url:

  2. Likes and comments are two different things. Please clarify exactly what you mean.

Your followers and anyone with a blog who is logged into can "like" your posts in several locations without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. Those who have username accounts only but no blog can become followers and click the "like" button. Those who do not have accounts cannot use the like button.

These threads I link to below explain what's changed when it comes to commenting and why it was changed:
    Recent update to commenting:

  3. Clarification: Neither "likes" or "comments" have been allowed, though no changes have been made by me to my account. This has been reported to me by both wordpress users and non-users alike.

I have not locked down my blog so that only wordpress users can leave feedback of any kind.

I have followed both your imbedded links and cross checked back to my setting and there is nothing in my account that has disabled either "comments" or "likes".

Granted I am fairly new to this process, but I am pretty technically savvy and have scoured the forum and double checked every setting that my dashboard allows to see if there is some obscure means of disallowing either types of feedback.

  4. Hello again,
I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.

  5. I don't see anything that would prevent that, and I just posted (and deleted) a test comment on your most recent entry.

On the other hand, what I do see is very few visits. You are currently averaging 1 visit per day, which could explain the lack of comments and likes.

  6. Thank you for checking into this with such speed.

Yesterday, I used my wordpress credentials to post a comment on a friend's cycling wordpress blog -- I am sure he has a slightly higher readership than I. Once posted, the comment did not show up on his blog.

So do I interpret from your final comment, that if the readership is sufficiently low, there's an algorithm that deems it not necessary? In my case, if I have roughly ten readers, two of them attempted to post and neither one was allowed. That's 20%. Maybe 20% of nothing in the algorithms of the Happiness Engineers doesn't rate, but to me every reader counts.

  7. No, not at all. I though you were referring to comments on your own blog.

If you're referring to comment you leave on other blogs, perhaps your comment is being held for moderation. What is the URL of the blog?

  8. It's both actually, comments and likes are being rejected by both. I will get the URL of the other blog as soon as I can.

  9. If they are being rejected by your blog, we'll need the commenter to contact us in this thread with the URL of the post they tried to comment on.

Please keep in mind that folks need to visit your blog to comment, so if someone is complaining about not being able to comment, and you have 0 views (as you do so far today), it is highly unlikely that they even attempted to comment.
