Site Downgrade

  1. My account has been downgraded to a free, though we are premium. Site address now not working. I assumed the premium would update automatically on CC card in Feb.

    Can I reinstate my so the domain and customizations will be reinstated if you renew/reactivate to Premium?

    Your account logs show that your username cancelled the Premium Plan and domain on 3 January. It was not removed by our system.

    I've restored your Premium Plan, but I'll need to email our domain registrar as cancelled domains need to be manually restored on their end. Hopefully we're still in time to get your domain back without having to pay an additional restoration fee, but if they reply that the domain is already in redemption there will be an extra $80 fee to get it back. I will let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

    The site is used by my students at CCSU for our online magazine. Perhaps one of them hit the wrong key. I will investigate. To my knowledge no one has been on the site since our term ended in December. Hmmm...

    I see the address: bluemusemag.com is back up and running. So his has been restored. Woo hoo.

    Is is correct, that we will need to re-up our premium plan next month?

  4. The site is used by my students at CCSU for our online magazine. Perhaps one of them hit the wrong key.

    Do your students manage the site using your account? It might be a better idea to have your students create their own accounts, and then you add them to the site as authors or editors. That way they can manage content on the site, but they won't have the access needed to make changes to upgrades, the theme, or to delete the site itself.

    It hasn't been restored yet. I restored the cancelled upgrades, and that means the domain will work as it's still in a post-cancellation holding period. The moment it enters redemption it will stop working, though, so we need to hope it is restored before that happens.

    Your plan will expire on 4 February, as it has not been renewed yet, so you'll need to renew it manually, but please wait until after I've confirmed that the domain has been restored.

    Thanks for the update. I will wait to hear from you regarding the restoration. That would be quite a blow if the site entered the dreaded redemption. Anything I can do on my end to make sure that doesn't happen?

    Not at this point, no. It's now up to our registrar restoring it, and that has to be done manually on their end. All we can do is wait.

  7. Good news, your domain has been reactivated so it's not at risk of entering redemption any more.

    Please make sure you renew it from the Purchases page before 4 February, and you'll be all set for another year :)
