Site not published
I just started using wordpress and I can’t seem to get my blog published. I always get this message SITE NOT PUBLISHED…what do I do?
The blog I need help with is blog.kikibirdjewelry.com.
When I click the link attached to your username, it does not appear to be a site hosted on wordpress.com.
If you have a wp.com site, then please provide a link starting with http://
Do you realize that there are different kinds of wordpress? If you have a blog which you pay someone to host (even though you use wordpress software), then you are in the wrong forum to ask for help.
wp.com platform works very differently and our answers won’t necessarily help you:
see details here
Domain Helper shows you have set your WordPress.COM correctly to a sub-domain of your other site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/
These are the instructions you should have followed: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/
I thought earlier I saw a good blog – it can take up to 72 hours for changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet –
I will flag this for staff attention check your settings.
You paid for a domain mapping upgrade then?
It means that you paid to have “http://blog.kikibirdjewelry.com/” point to your blog here on wp.com
Another volunteer will be able to help you: I have no experience with what you are asking. http://scxdo.dyqrw.servertrust.com/Default.asp looks like where your main website is but after that, I don’t know what is wrong…
~~good evening auxclass…
Morning Morning Tess –
The only thing I can think of is that there might be some setting that needs to be set on their web site host to catch the blog mapping – when I was hosting my own site I added a sub-domain and a setting had to be set on my site – the host needed to add the setting but I can’t remember exactly what it was and don’t know if the settings can also be done from here.
Maybe some progress here.
A whois shows that you have your name servers set to two different domains – register.com and volusion.com – that means that people will be sent to two different hosts – I don’t think that will work and I don’t know which is your intended host – but I would set the name servers at your registrar to the proper name servers for your host for starters.
If you are wanting blog.kikibirdjewelry.com to be hosted at WordPress.COM then you need to update the DNS to do so. I can’t imagine paying for the domain mapping and not doing that.
Since you are doing a subdomain (e.g. “blog.” in front the domain name), these are the instructions to follow to be fully hosted at WordPress.COM:
If you want something other than hosting at WordPress.COM, let us know what is your goal.
