SmugMug Slideshow Embed

Recently started a blog here with WordPress and have been stumped trying to embed a slideshow from my SmugMug acct. into my site. I have chatted with SmugMug support and they were not able to see any reason why it isn’t working. Still waiting to hear back from Support folks at WordPress so thought I’d try here in the meantime. Also, I am unfamiliar with code at any level… bleh, I wish it weren’t so.

Here is what happens: from one of my galleries in SmugMug , I click a link to a slideshow, then click the “Copy Embed Code” button (not seen to general public, but to me as admin). I then go to my site on wordpress, through the Dashboard, to the Photo page I created, click the html tab and paste the code. Then I click save draft or update and the code is shortened significantly and what shows on the page is a link, that does not lead to the gallery. Any suggestions at all what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is thefoxplot.com.

If the SmugMug code contains javascript or an iframe, it will not work here on WordPress.com. Please see this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

If the slideshow uses flash, you might be able to use the gigya shortcode workaround or use vodpod to post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/vodpod/

Would you care to post the code here between backticks (to the left of the number 1 on most keyboards) so we can have a look at it?

Here is the code as copied from the SmugMug site for the slideshow.

    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="400" height="400" id="ssidx"><param name="movie" value="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2011042105.swf" /><param name="flashVars" value="AlbumID=21355840&dontpost=true&AlbumKey=bjbSp4&newWindow=false&width=400&height=400&transparent=true&splash=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com%2Fimg%2Fria%2FShizamSlides%2Fsmugmug_black.png&showLogo=true&captions=true&clickUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com&showThumbs=true&showButtons=true&pageStyle=white&autoStart=true&showSpeed=true&VersionNos=2011042105&splashDelay=0&crossFadeSpeed=350&clickToImage=true&showStartButton=false&randomStart=false&randomize=true&mainHost=cdn.smugmug.com" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><embed src="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2011042105.swf" flashVars="AlbumID=21355840&dontpost=true&AlbumKey=bjbSp4&newWindow=false&width=400&height=400&transparent=true&splash=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com%2Fimg%2Fria%2FShizamSlides%2Fsmugmug_black.png&showLogo=true&captions=true&clickUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com&showThumbs=true&showButtons=true&pageStyle=white&autoStart=true&showSpeed=true&VersionNos=2011042105&splashDelay=0&crossFadeSpeed=350&clickToImage=true&showStartButton=false&randomStart=false&randomize=true&mainHost=cdn.smugmug.com" width="400" height="400" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all" ></embed></object>

I think you may be on to it- It looks like code that WP won’t allow. I tried using Vodpod without success… I appreciate the help. Thanks.

That’s flash. Vodpod SHOULD work, but the Gigya shortcode will work too.

    Copy this part:
    <embed src="ETC ETC ETC" ></embed>

    Turn it to this:
    [gigya src="ETC ETC ETC" ]

    Paste into HTML editor.

    Okay. So I replaced <embed src="ETC ETC ETC" ></embed> so that it looks like this <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="400" height="400" id="ssidx"><param name="movie" value="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2011042105.swf" /><param name="flashVars" value="AlbumID=21355840&dontpost=true&AlbumKey=bjbSp4&newWindow=false&width=400&height=400&transparent=true&splash=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com%2Fimg%2Fria%2FShizamSlides%2Fsmugmug_black.png&showLogo=true&captions=true&clickUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com&showThumbs=true&showButtons=true&pageStyle=white&autoStart=true&showSpeed=true&VersionNos=2011042105&splashDelay=0&crossFadeSpeed=350&clickToImage=true&showStartButton=false&randomStart=false&randomize=true&mainHost=cdn.smugmug.com" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />[gigya src="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2011042105.swf" flashVars="AlbumID=21355840&dontpost=true&AlbumKey=bjbSp4&newWindow=false&width=400&height=400&transparent=true&splash=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com%2Fimg%2Fria%2FShizamSlides%2Fsmugmug_black.png&showLogo=true&captions=true&clickUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smugmug.com&showThumbs=true&showButtons=true&pageStyle=white&autoStart=true&showSpeed=true&VersionNos=2011042105&splashDelay=0&crossFadeSpeed=350&clickToImage=true&showStartButton=false&randomStart=false&randomize=true&mainHost=cdn.smugmug.com" width="400" height="400" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all" ]</object>
and when I paste it to the HTML field I still get the same results, the code is changed to this <a href="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2011042105.swf">http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2011042105.swf</a>
I wish I knew more what I was doing! Thanks for the help- any other suggestions?

    Don’t do that.

Do exactly as Panos said, use square brackets, and ignore everything before embed src.

I’m not worried, but I really would like my two previous comments under the account mariageaudeadrien to be deleted. Thanks.

So… by the way the problem I have can be found here:

Any idea why when I click on a picture, the gallery shows up in the frame?
    Thanks.
