Social Tools Publicize Questions

  1. I have two questions regarding the Social Tool "Publicize" in Sharing Settings.

    1) I went into Sharing Settings and have successfully connected my blog to Facebook. My posts are now automatically shared to my Facebook business page. The only thing I am not happy with is how each post on Facebook shows the big blue WordPress "W" logo. Is there a way to remove this or replace it with something else?

    2) I also tried to connect my Google+ Business Page, but I don't get the option to connect the business page. It only connects to my personal Google+ page. As you know, Google+ does not allow anyone to create a business only account. You must first create a personal Google+ account and then add a Business page to that personal account. They say that this is because there must be a personal account that is responsible for maintaining the Business account. But like I mentioned there is no way to specifically select my Google+ Business page as the page to share my blog posts with. Does anyone know a way to make this possible?

  2. I'm sorry but when using Publicize, note that we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include. From:

  3. I have no answers to Google Plus questions. Perhaps searching threads will produce some.

  4. It is not yet possible to publicize posts to Google Plus Pages. Staff have mentioned elsewhere in the forums that this is on their "to do" list, but no ETA at this time.

  5. I found this information about a Facebook plugin for WordPress. Does anyone know if it will work with or only with WordPress installed on a web-server that we have access to?

  6. It will not work with You cannot use plugins on a blog. You do not need this, as the ability to publicize to Facebook is already built in to every blog.

The reason the W is showing on Facebook is that you don't have a Blavatar for that blog. Upload it on the Settings->General page.

  7. Awesome. Thanks! I'll try that now.

  8. It worked! Thanks again Raincoaster!

  9. You're welcome!
