Some Questions

  1. 1. Can i use an Windows Media Player extension on my posts? To listen audio files?

2.Im using the theme Garland, and the change of color isn't working. I select the colors, i save the changes, but nothing different.

3.I would like to know how i can have a "friends"(partners) list on my side bar. Like add others wordpress blogs to my sidebar, i will have to use the Text 1 Box?

  2. (1) The choices for media players on blogs are limited to odeo and sonific.

    (2) If the colour changes are not working for you use the feedback button on the top right hand corner of any blog page and send a message to staff with a link back to this thread.

    (3) We do not have "friends boxes" on our sidebars here. In the admin section on the back of your blog you have a "friend surfer" tab you can use.
This does not prevent you from making your own text widget with links to friends in it.

    (4) These threads are ones I think you may want to read

  3. ok, but i didint understend about the friends surfer, how can i use it?im not finding it, just the option to add friends, but not to show.
it is about my theme? Does Garlic theme accepts Friends Surfer?

  4. Would you please link your name here in the forum to your blog? You can edit your forum profile and change the url to do this. Then when folks try to help answer your questions they can click on your username and see your blog and that would be very helpful.

The wordpress "friend surfer" gives you the option of linking to the rss feeds of your other friends at wordpress. It's only for wordpress blogging friends and you cannot add bloggers from other sites to it.

If you want you can also make make a visible text widget for your sidebar with your friends thumbnail images from other blogging hosts and links to them in it. And this will help with the set up and configuring of widgets. Inserting an image into a text widget and displaying it in your sidebar will result from following this walk through.

-> write post -> upload image -> send image to editor - > copy the entire image code -> presentation -> sidebar widgets - > text widget -> open text widget and paste in the image code - > save changes

Because you are new and you seem to be quite well acquainted with the blogging world I'm thinking you would probably like to become as independent as you can as fast as you can. But don't hesitate to post if you can't find your own answers. This will introduce you to some basic wordpress resources.
    Happy blogging. :)

  5. my blog adress is
    thanks for helping

  6. now i see, i have a widget called Links, but i cant edit it.
and i didnt see any Blogrool Widget, how can i activate mine?

  7. I gave you a link which will explain this to you and I will post it again when I finish typing this.

In the administration panel you have a "Blogroll" and this is where you enter all your links, assign categories to them (and edit them or delete them if required.

When you drag and drop your "Links" widget into your sidebar you activate the display of those links that you entered into your Blogroll. The way the links are displayed is alphabetically in accord with the Categories you assigned to the links when you entered them into your Blogroll.

This will help with the set up and configuring of widgets and at the end of it you will find what we are talking about right now. :)

  8. now i see!!!!
