Sorting Categories

    Hello there.

    Is there a way I can force a search order on my Categories widget? It’s listing all the categories alphabetically, which is OK except for one “outlier” on my blog that I always want listed first. This may grow to a few other categories as well.

    If you want to see specifically what I’m talking about, it’s http://americaincontext.wordpress.com/. The categories will basically be a list of the states, but there are a few oddball categories (like “Books”) that I want broken out separately (so people won’t think there’s a U.S. state called “Books” :-P).

    I don’t know if there’s a way to fix the ordering of the categories, or if maybe there’s another mechanism I can use instead.

    There isn’t a way to sort categories the way you want. I know some people will create a text widget with a link to their important categories, but changing the order of the categories to have certain items on top isn’t something it is setup for right now.
