  1. Please Help!!!
How do I find the comments that are spammed or hammed. The comments rejected by Akismet, that are being marked as spam and ham, seem very high. How can I take control of what comment gets through.

The blog I need help with is

  2. thank you . I will give it a try and let you know. again thanks

  3. hello raincoaster
I pasted what you sent me in both box on settings/ discussion. Is it an immediate? that will help me determine why I seem to have more spam then views.
Perhaps I am just not getting many comments? Being validated, recognized or approved of through comments seems to be a big part of blogging but stressing over the lack of comments or spam takes away from what why it is that I have a blog and that is to write. So, if my site really is getting pretty much spam comments, could you tell me how to take the comment box off of my site? Thanks for your support.

  4. It takes over 5,000 page views on my site to generate ONE legal comment, however my site gets just under 100 spam comments a day, of that number about 20 show up in the spam filter.

I Admin some friends travel blog, they get maybe one comment every 200 - 300 page views, but the blog is just visited by their long time friends an is used like a bulletin board of where they are now

My suggestion without looking at your site is to blog for yourself and your target audience - if comments are really that important maybe bribe a couple of friends or your mother to leave comments or likes -

  5. Thank you! I have been a bit upside down, being the newbie that I am to this blogging thing, I thought that my blog needed to be like some of the blogs that I have read, that I, too, like them, needed to have a gazillion comments to be a blogger achiever. When in fact, I am really very grateful for one comment. In the face to face world, I do not waste my time trying to fit in and here in the cyber world, I was becoming preoccupied with joining the in crowd of the bloggers! So, thank you for the correspondence that helped me set myself straight. The truth of it is that I do not really care how many comments or likes that I receive. What I care about is writing. And having a few people tune into my blog to read my dribble is a bonus even if no comments are received.
I am glad that the WordPress support team is out there in Cyber land somewhere.

  6. Hi Liz,
At present you username is linked to a deleted blog. To link it to do what follows. Go to Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Primary Blog. Where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

  7. timetheif,
I followed your instructions and went into primary blog where it has written tried to change but could not so I went down to the web site box and changed from , to ... will that help? or, how can I change it in primary blog because, yes, that blog with is no longer.
Thanks for informing me of something that I was not aware of.

As I mentioned before, I did change the Website box to .com but in my User-personal settings- the URL it still reads still and It won't let me change to How can I change the primary blog read? need to be changed?

  13. correction from me. In the URL on my edit post page is On the published page it is .com.... does this matter to my blog?

  14. That's normal. Visitors see the .com domain URLs and on the Admin side of the blog you see the sub-domain URLs as you are mapping from them to the domain URLs.

  15. Thank you !

  16. You're welcome.

  17. You can be reported as a forum spammer equally easily.
