Spam comments constant but for a single post. How do I stop them?

    Only one of my posts (long covered by more recent ones) gets continual spam comments on a daily basis. If I were to delete this post might that stop them, or will spammers simply move on to others? Akismet seems to work elsewhere but not on this particular post. If I move the post to trash and then restore it will it get a new address?

    Hi there!

    The first step to take is make sure you’re marking each comment as Spam, not just deleting them. This will help Akismet learn how to catch these spam comments.

    The next step is to add phrases that you’re seeing in the spam comments to your Comment Blacklist settings:

    I wouldn’t recommend deleting the post just because of spam comments. Following these two steps will help Akismet block spam better across your whole site and should over time stop the spam on that particular post as well.

    Thank you Alex. That is very clear. I have been marking each as ‘spam’ but never used the comment blacklist. Will try that now.
