Speaking with someone on the phone

  • Hi, my blog is new but it’s picking up readers quickly. I’m very happy and surprised with where it’s going. I am considering upgrading, but I’d really prefer to speak with someone who works for wordpress before I do that. Is there any way? All the help I’ve found so far comes from the forums which are great, but I’d really prefer to speak personally with someone before investing any money.

  • In terms of monetizing a blog, at what point does it become worth it? Like how many views should I have on a daily basis before I would cover the cost of upgrading the plan?
    Is there support in terms of the google analytics and SEO tools on the business plan? I don’t have experience with those so I would need to learn.
    Where are the live courses they talk about on the business plan?
    What is videopress support? Is it live or prerecorded?

    You will need tens of thousands of views a month to make any meaningful income with advertising. Online advertising rates have dropped severely the past few years, so you really need high traffic to make it worthwhile. The amount you are paid also varies based on where your viewers are from, especially US vs non-US.

    If you have several thousand US views a month, you should be able to break even and even show some profit over a year on the Premium Plan, but it’s impossible to guarantee that or to accurately predict your income.

    Is there support in terms of the google analytics and SEO tools on the business plan? I don’t have experience with those so I would need to learn.

    We have very detailed documentation regarding our SEO tools, and support can also help you with that. For Google Analytics you’ll need to contact Google’s support if you require in-depth help – we can only help with connecting it to your account.

    Where are the live courses they talk about on the business plan?

    When you sign up for Business you should receive an email with information on how you can schedule a 1-on-1 session with one of our Happiness Engineers to help you set up your site. Those emails are mostly going out to new users who don’t already have an established site at this stage, but if you buy Business and want so schedule a session, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

    What is videopress support?

    VideoPress is an upgrade included in Premium and Business. VideoPress allows you to upload video files directly to your site’s media library instead of embedding it from other services like Youtube. This support is in the sense that we support the product, and not “customer support” :)
