Stats not showing any hits

I’m not showing any views for the last few days, but I know the page is being viewed (I’ve gained new followers and had posts favorited, just in the last hour or so). It looks like page hits aren’t registering.

The blog I need help with is petefordwriter.com.

Be aware that our stats are not real time stats. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ Note the views and viewers take hours to update.

Moreover, those who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don’t have to click into the blog unless they wish to. Be aware that likes, follows, shares and reblogs are not page views. In fact, likes, shares and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.

You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”. That will compel followers who are not using mobiles to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.

Visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606

Note that setting the RSS Feed to summary does not affect the length of the post displayed on the front page or main page for posts on the blog. To create excerpts there we can split content by inserting “the more tag” http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Also note that you can disable “Sharing” on the same page:
    Settings > Reading
Add to each article in your feed:
    Categories
    Tags
    Comment count
    Sharing
Changes may not appear until you create a new post or your news reader refreshes.

Since you have all full posts visitors can read the whole blog with one page view – make your main page load quicker – use the ‘More Tag” easier for people to page down and when they read a Post you get a Page View, so you can see which of your Posts are most popular
