Sticky Notes Plus?

Totally great to have the Sticky Notes option, and great coincidental timing as it was something that crossed my mind.
I was thinking that a top 1, 2, 3, option would be great…maybe let us keep more than a few at the top of each page? Maybe just the default could be chronological. Be great to have the option to structure it further.

I think we’re getting carried away here. If you want more information in the sticky, simply edit the post and add to it with a bold header above the new information.
You could also create a post that has links to your other posts on your blog
and turn that into a sticky…Teck
@teck, that is a good idea. Make a sticky and call it “My Hot Posts” or something like that.
@thesacredpath,
It sure would help keeping a reader longer on our sites if they have links
right in front of them instead of having them playing the guessing game
were to find those “Hot Articles”Teck
Also it could help in the manner of bringing in extra hits compared to one
extra hit from the static page…Teck

What a great idea. Thanks so much.
Your welcome! masterclasslady, :)

Off-topic: Hey, what appended to your avatar? Doesn’t look so scary anymore…hehe
On-topic: Coming from TypePad, this was one of the features I missed most in WordPress, apart from a couple more, like batch assigning or changing categories, but I’m glad to see that WordPress is catching up with that. A sticky post is certainly better than having a sticky text widget, which many people would just overlook, so this is great progress.@wpvstp
Don’t get me wrong I like skulls & all but it didn’t

Remember: the more you put between your reader’s eyes and your first fresh blog post, the more likely they are to click away.

Thanks Raincoaster. I never thought of this. Great call. I will remember this and make some adjustments.
Oooops- should have used .
Okay, time for bed before I make yet another mistake. Good night everyone.
I’m happy for the people who will use the sticky feature. But I don’t think it’s a big enough deal to be worth the prominent place it gets on the post page. It’s above the fold, next to the text window, while things that most of us use for every post, like categories and tags, still languish lower down below the fold.
This is probably bugging me more than it should…Categories and tags I’m pretty sure will have the option of being moving up to the right of the text area with next big upgrade – or possibly sooner. Sticky posts will not hit the self-hosted version until the release of 2.7 (probably a couple months off).
Interesting thanks for sharing thesacredpath, :)
You’re welcome. We seem to have the wordpress gods smiling on us here at .COM and are getting things ahead of time lately. (We be the guinea pigs)
