Sticky Posts and Posts

  • I’m using the splendio theme and I’m trying to figure out a way if I can keep the sticky posts and regular posts separate. I.E. I like the sticky posts feature and want to use it to highlight a specific type of post (usually information based vs. topic/content based). However, I don’t want these posts to appear on my regular “posts” page.

I’ve already tried creating two showcase pages (within this theme, showcase is the name of the type of page that allows for sticky notes presentation along with regular content), however, it just created a duplicate of the showcase page that already existed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I would like to find out this as well! I am using the Twenty Eleven theme and I have a showcase page as my “front” page and then I have the default page as my “posts” page. My blog is: http://thewholeknitandcaboodle.wordpress.com/

I want to have the sticky on my “front” page but I don’t want the sticky to be at the top of my “posts” page–I just want my posts to show in chronological order here– otherwise there is no point in having the two pages because they’re virtually identical except for the styling of the page–the “front” page just looks cooler.

Please help! Can I take the sticky off my “posts” page???

Please read the support documentation and remove the sticky designation and click upfate > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

    That’s not possible.

  • Timethief,

This does not answer my question. I know how to remove a sticky post.

I am asking–can I take the sticky post of the “posts” page and but have a sticky post on the “front” page.?

If this cannot be done then there is no point in having the two pages because they look the same!

  • No: the posts page is supposed to display all your posts.

But the showcase page a) is optional, b) it’s not supposed to look the same: it’s supposed to display a featured image (plus a slider, if you have multiple stickies). See here for more on the theme:
