Still getting Outside Ads on My Blog

I purchased the No Add Upgrade and I’m still getting ads on my blog. They’re appearing at the very bottom and they’re clearly ads generated from my recent Google Searches or sites I’ve visited. I’m also getting numerous ads in the separate window displaying my blog photos. They’re terrible. Can someone please tell me if there is some sort of setting need to adjust to kick my No-Ad upgrade in to full gear?. Thanks!!

The blog I need help with is matsinger.wordpress.com.

Those don’t sound like ads inserted by WordPress.

They sound like something coming from something in your browser.

Can you try another browser or computer?

If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising. Look for the About These Ads link to confirm. http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/

WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. If you are seeing those then that’s a browser-ad-on issue, or in some cases, it’s embedded into free games and/or toolbars downloaded from the internet. Wow, you were correct! It’s my computer. I checked a couple of other compyters using the same browser and there were no ads. Do I just have to clear my cookies? Thanks agian!!

Possibly. But it may go deeper. You may have a contaminated browser extension, add-on or toolbar. Try disabling any and all you have
installed, especially unfamiliar ones.

You may also have to run a security scan for malware or adware.

No. Clearing your cookies won’t necessarily work. Disabling browser add-ons won’t necessarily work in all cases either. Click into the articles I linked to if you are looking for solutions.

@timethief – it looks like clearing my cookies, browsing history, etc. and running a Malware scan as @notawoodpecker suggested has done the trick for now. I have, however, been recently getting online game pop-up’s so I think you hit it right on the nose with that. Deleting them now! Thanks all for the help!
