Strange Display in IE
Hello! I have maintained my blog, MidwesternBelle.com, for over a year now. I typically don’t have any trouble. Over the past few weeks, however, I have noticed the fonts (throughout the whole site) and font color (sidebar only) do not display normally in IE. For example, when the site loads in IE, the font switch at least once as the site loads. Also, the font on many of my widgets appear in peach/pink – it’s supposed to be grey.
Everything displays normally in Firefox.
I upgraded to and used CSS Customizations, so that is why I am placing this question in this section.
Any help/suggestions? Thank you!
The blog I need help with is midwesternbelle.com.
Which version of IE are you referring to please. IE8 and IE9 are supported but earlier IE versions are not.
Hi Timethief. The version I am using is IE8.
Thanks so much for your help.
I checked the font settings for the http://midwesternbelle.com/ site, and I don’t see any fonts saved on the Appearance → Custom Design → Fonts page. Besides the widget links appearing pink instead of gray, can you describe some additional examples for what you expected to see compared to what you are actually seeing in IE8?
I also checked the CSS you have saved in your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page, and there are no rules to change the widget link colors. Is it possible you were using the Grey color scheme on the Appearance → Theme Options page and you have reset it to Default by mistake?
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the help. I made some adjustments over the weekend, and everything seems to be displaying great in IE9.
However, MidwesternBelle.com is not showing up at all (for me at least) in IE8 now! It pulls up a completely blank page. I can, however, pull up wordpress.midwesternbelle.com without any problems.
Everything displays just fine in IE9.
Any suggestions? I really want for my blog to display for IE8 users!
For http://midwesternbelle.com I get the same “no display at all in IE8” and I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.
When I go into IE 8 and look at your code, deleting the class “wf-loading wf-ffdagnywebpro1-n4-loading” makes your site appear. This might be a typekit issue… try changing your custom fonts or refreshing your custom fonts and seeing if that helps.
I got a screenshot of your site (midwesternbelle.com) in IE 8, which loads properly from our end:
Can you try clearing your browser cache?
Are you using IE 8 with IE 9 in browser compatibility mode?
To narrow down a browser–specific issue, can you also load your site with the latest versions of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox?
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Glad it worked out!
