I am not able to view my subscribed to blogs in the blog reader – is anyone else having this problem and is there anyway to resolve it?

Thank you in advance for any help with this issue,

The blog I need help with is

I am having the same problem. I get the “loading” message and an error symbol on the bottom of my browser.
I have logged off WP and back on again as this has sometimes helped this problem. I have also cleared out my browsing history, temporary internet files and cookies… Still no luck.
Be very happy if anyone can help! :)

is anyone else having this problem and is there anyway to resolve it?

“Yes” to the first part and “no” to the second part. Click the tags > in the sidebar

Mine seems to have resolved itself, but wondered if it was a known issue, as it’s happened a number of times this week.

Spoke too soon. Tried all the steps in the tagged strand and still not working unfortunately.

I’m having this problem, too, but only when trying to view Reader on my phone – just get a loading message now. On my laptop Reader shows up, but will not load new blog posts when I click on tags/topics I’m following in the left sidebar. Wish there was a way to fix this problem.

I am browsing on a pc via a standard broadband connection…

What specific browser are you using? There might be a compatibility issue.

I’m using standard Microsoft Internet Explorer. It’s been fine until this week.

IE is problematic with WordPress, but we can’t say for sure it’s the problem till we hear from a few other people as well. If only IE users are having this issue, that’s the problem pinpointed.

I have the same issue. I’m using Safari v5.1.5 on a Mac and never had any problems until two days ago. The problem only affects the Reader tab. Freshly Pressed, etc. are all working fine. I can still read blogs I follow on my iPhone through the Word Press app, but not on my Mac. Very frustrating!

I have seen people on other threads having the same problem using IE but also other browsers…

I am having the same problem, but I have two WordPress accounts and my reader works fine for my other one using the same browser, so I don’t think it’s a browser problem.

Every day we Volunteers have bloggers posting to this forum who are sure that their browser settings and connectivity are not at issue. What’s missed is the fact that maybe nothing changed at their end but things changed at this end. is on continuous roll-out. Changes to the code are being made many times daily and new features are being introduced, while existing functions and features are being improved and upgraded. When we provide specific information Staff have something to work with so just in case anyone would like to take a try at doing some troubleshooting here you go:

trying both the https:// login and the http:// log-in
clearing your browser cache and cookies >
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version)
confirming third party cookies is enabled
    confirming JavaScript is enabled
confirming Flash is updated and if required installing the latest version of Flash
resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
    trying another browser

If those do not work for you then it will be helpful to know
    (1) how you are connecting to the internet and to The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

    (2) exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out >

Just wanted to report that I did some testing as suggested. While changing from the http:// login to https:// login and emptying my browser’s cache didn’t resolve the issue.
clearing all cookies did. Everything appears to be working fine now.

I’m using Safari 5.1.5 on a Mac and connecting to the internet over a secure wireless network.

    Thanks for the help TimeThief!

ALLELUIA! I love happy endings. Thanks so much for working through this and resolving it. I hope you have a super weekend.

I am having a similar issue – deleting cookies did not help. None of the information in the tabs on my homepage are showing up, i.e. Reader, Freshly Pressed, Topics, My Blog, Stats. My Reader tab started having trouble a few days ago; a couple hours ago the information on all the tabs vanished.

I have also tried each of the steps above and deleting cookies worked once, for one click – when I tried to return to the page it disappeared again and hasn’t worked since. It’s odd because like I said earlier my other WordPress account is working fine on the same browser.

I am using Firefox 12, and my system is Windows XP. I connect through an ethernet cable to my university internet but I’m afraid I don’t know anything more about the system used.

Hi, I’ve been having a similar problem for a few logins now. I have two blogs and signin using https for the main one, through whose Dashboard I access the Reader, as it shows all the blogs I am following for both my blogs.

My problem is that the Reader shows the latest actual posts, rather than the list of hyperlinks to those blog addresses. When I click onto Edit List, all I get is the small rotating flower/cogwheel (for lack of a better description); no list appears.

I don’t want the latest posts. I want my hyperlinked list.

I use both Firefox and IE, the latest versions.
The latest Flash is installed in both.
Firefox deletes cookies on closing, as does IE
I rarely use IE to visit WordPress.
I am on a Windows 7 laptop and connect to the internet directly via mobile wireless broadband through our national telecommunications provider. It’s pretty fast!

Clearing cookies worked for me 3 days but when I logged on this morning, the problem had returned. I will try clearing cookies again {sigh}.
