Suspicious email addresses for a bunch of new "followers"

    I’ve recently gotten a lot of new followers all at the same few .me addresses. I’m suspicious they’re some sort of Spam or Scam.

    I have the same problem. Over the last two weeks I have gotten a whole bunch of followers with emails at similar .me addresses. I have just taken down my “follow” button to logged out users and I have removed the “follow blog widget” to try and counter this. (but this is not ideal as now non-wordpress genuine followers can not follow my blog.) But how do I get rid of these followers (close to 30) that have already signed up to follow. Their gravatar is a “fake” one with no information so they do not look like they are WordPress users.

    You’re not the only ones who’ve reported this. Lots of whoever at makemillionsovernight dot com kind of addresses are signing up. This is typical at installs, and you can just delete them as followers there, but you can’t at



    I am reporting the same. Way too many subscribers with suspicious looking email addresses.

    I don’t much care for who subscribes the blog, but I hope to not see increase in the comment spam because as it is, the comment spam I get is way too high. The inconvenient aspect of it is in processing the emails.
