I have purchased a CSS upgrade. Is it possible to have the sidebar display to my Posts page only (which is not my home page). All my other pages contain static content which is not relevant to categories and other elements I would like in a sidebar on my Posts page. Thank you!

The blog I need help with is erinmidwife.com.

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

Please read this post > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/

In most themes (including Tarksi) the sidebar is common to all dynamic and static pages – you cannot hide it selectively.

You can switch to one of the themes that don’t display (or can be made not to display) the sidebar on static pages. See here:

Yes, I have a CSS upgrade that I am working with. Just learning the ropes.

Thank you panaghiotisadam that link was very helpful. I will check out these other themes.

    From http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/11/12/widgets-on-pages-or-single-posts/

“Bueno, Monochrome, Motion, Structure, Twenty Ten, Vostok: sidebar/bottombar can be deactivated or activated on any static page (Page editor > Attributes module > Template).”

I understood Vostok has only a bottom bar for widgets, and no sidebar, do you know if that is correct?

I like the Blix theme, but a google search revealed some links saying that it has not been upgraded since the latest WP 2.1 (This one one from 2007 though http://devon.freepgs.com/2007/blix.php) Does anyone have any more info on this?
    Thanks!
