Do you offer educational discounts for teachers (video blog and extra storage) specifically?
    Blog url: http://orreupacademy.wordpress.com/

The blog I need help with is orreupacademy.wordpress.com.

No. There are no discounts for anyone. We all pay the same amount for upgrades and upgrades are not required for blogging. On can establish a successful blog without purchasing a single upgrade.

The edublogs platform is a WPMU (wordpress multiuser) blogging platform like this one. Edublogs lets you easily create & manage student & teacher blogs, quickly customize designsand include videos, photos & podcasts. Edublogs blogs are now 100% advertisement free. http://edublogs.org/

Thanks so much for such a comprehensive and timely reply!

I’ve never heard of wp.com doing such a thing: I run a blog for a federally recognized not-for-profit, as do many others who use wp.com. There is nothing I can find in the Support documents which indicates any sort of discount for anyone.

As for videos, you can use a number of services to embed into posts, including YouTube, TED, Vimeo, and others. Storage for images, properly compressed to 50 to 100KB is 3GB which is enough for thousands and thousands of pictures. Audio files can also be embedded.

Upload an .mp3, .m4a, .ogg, or .wav file somewhere on the internet and link to it using our audio shortcode (if you have found an audio file elsewhere, simply grab its URL).

    ~~timethief good evening…

Actually, I have heard of WP.com offering a discount, but not to a teacher.

Really? Was that recently? I’m asking because the answer I posted above was run through macmanx previously and I know it’s the correct one.

No, it’s a blogger I know who got the VIP setup. I asked him how it could possibly be worth it for him, an individual blogger, and he, who is very smart and has never lied to me or misled me said, “I never pay retail.” And I believe that he didn’t.

It was about three years ago, if I recall.

Thanks for the update. I can confrim that my answer is timely and correct.

So is my answer: he’s still not paying full price.
