Tempted to change theme BUT…

    I did some investigation and realized I have 5 subdomains included to my main domain. So if I create a separate blog for Finnish posts on WordPress, do I need to pay for another mapping as well or how I’m supposed to proceed with that? I created a subdomain http://www.fi.livenowdreamlater.net. (And again, thanks a lot for any advice) :)

    if you already have a website you don’t want to affect, and you want to add a blog to it under a subdomain (for example, blog.yourgroovydomain.com). See Map a subdomain (for a domain with an existing website) to your WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

    Getting back to having only my English posts showing on the showcase page, I used the following CSS to hide the “recent posts” and “more posts” sections:

    section.recent-articles {
    display: none;

    section.more-articles {
    display: none;

    Just to make sure, is it not possible with CSS to display only posts from one specific category OR hide the posts from one specific category on a showcase page? If not, I will keep my home page as it is, even if it looks a bit… well, empty.

    At the moment I’m not able to pay for the upgrades and domain mappings for two separate blogs so for now I’m going to keep both languages on the same blog and just try to make it as clear as possible.

    Hi Saana,

    It’s possible that CSS can be used to hide posts in certain categories, but that may have other impacts on your theme’s layout that you’d need to address. If you’d like to give that a try, I’d recommend posting in the CSS Customization forum (with specific details about what you’re trying to do) to get more guidance from the expert staff and volunteers there. :)

    Thanks for your reply. I actually posted this question on CSS forum about a week ago but I haven’t got an answer to it (this thread was more active so I decided to try here as well). But I will try again on the other forum. Thanks! :)

    Hi Saana,

    I’ve just responded to your post in the CSS customisation forum. Any questions then respond over there and I’ll be happy to help out more if I can!
