Text on the public view
How can I get rid of unwanted text on my public profile?
It is in regard to the widget.
This text shows up: This is the home page widget area. You can use this space to add an introductory message to your blog with a Text Widget or add any other widget here.
I’ve looked around the help topics and maybe I’m just not look for the right thing but I can’t figure out how to get rid of that. I’ve added an image, I clicked on the live link that was there before and….nothing.
I’m new to this so it could be that I am just overlooking something.
Thank you in advance.

Please read this so you know how the Structure theme is designed.
640×392 pixels if you’re using the option to display the featured image when viewing a single post.
620×380 pixels if you’re not using that option.
(620×380 is the size of the homepage top featured image, 640×392 is the size on the single post view; but 620×380 and 640×392 are the same aspect ratio, so the image will show up in the homepage top area in both cases).

Hi, timethief, thanks for that post. Its helpful.
I have no issues with the layout, or images but for some reason the description of what the widget does still shows up on the right of the featured image…how would I edit that?
You need to read this post because it clearly states what to do > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/05/01/introduction-to-structure/
I figured it out on my own.
The article was helpful for general information but for a newbie, it’s not as clear as you would assume.
Thank you for your help.
Hooray! I’m so glad you worked this out. Best wishes with your blog. :)
I’m checking out your blog too. I’ve skimmed somethings already but want to sit down and read some of your posts.
Anything that helps me get familiar with the blogging world is helpful actually.
Again, thank you.
@1queenvictoria: That article is mine, and you’re right, it doesn’t give a clear reply to your question. Reason is, it was published when the theme was first launched, and the default text you asked about is a later addition to the theme. I’ll update the article – thanks for pointing this out!
