Text widget not working
Undoubtedly this is because you are pasting in code that doesn’t meet our standards for safety at WordPress.com.
Please post the code here between backticks and then we can look at it and possibly suggest workarounds.
It could be because whatever code you are placing in the text widget is not an accepted code and the software is stripping it out. We can’t use any codes except pure HTML. That means no Javacript and no iframes http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ And no advertising codes as blogger initiated advertising is not allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
What is the code for please?
The code is for google adsense. I have pasted the code below directly from google adsense.
google_ad_client = “ca-pub-5029956696914156”;
/* Young and domestic */
google_ad_slot = “1695770371”;
google_ad_width = 250;
google_ad_height = 250;
It is not only HTML that won’t save. The text widget will not save any text at all.
There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/ There you will find the application page as well as FAQs.
Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com
If you do require an ecommerce site, advertising and/or affiliate links you can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org Refer to > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
