I have managed to put an image from a text widget on for one site, but can’t seem to get the following one to show:

    <embed wmode=”opaque” src=”http://static.ning.com/socialnetworkmain/widgets/index/swf/badge.swf?xn_version=124632088″ FlashVars=”backgroundColor=0xCC33CC&textColor=0xFFCCFF&config=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ukfba.co.uk%2Fmain%2Fbadge%2FshowPlayerConfig%3Fxg_source%3Dbadge%26size%3Dsmall%26username%3D2urqwwcgr0s3l” width=”206″ height=”104″ bgColor=”#CC33CC” scale=”noscale” allowScriptAccess=”always” allowFullScreen=”true” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” pluginspage=”http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer”> </embed>

The blog I need help with is 7thstarbaker.wordpress.com.

That’s because you’re not allowed to use Flash or Javascript here and code is automatically stripped out. Please see this:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

Howevery you may be able to use a shortcode:

As AOB said, that’s not the code for an image, it’s the code for a flash file. To insert this object you need to turn the code to this:

    [gigya wmode="opaque" src="http://static.ning.com/socialnetworkmain/widgets/index/swf/badge.swf?xn_version=124632088" FlashVars="backgroundColor=0xCC33CC&textColor=0xFFCCFF&config=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ukfba.co.uk%2Fmain%2Fbadge%2FshowPlayerConfig%3Fxg_source%3Dbadge%26size%3Dsmall%26username%3D2urqwwcgr0s3l" width="206" height="104" bgColor="#CC33CC" scale="noscale" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" ]

Thanks for these suggestions, however, I’m nto techy and find most of the lanuguage in the links from AOB a bit above my head!

Thanks for the new code justpi, that sort of works, but I have directional arrows (like on excel) around the badge – is there any way to remove those?

    You’re welcome.
I’m not seeing any arrows. You can try decreasing the dimensions. What browser and version are you using?

    Aha!

I’ve just logged in with Google Chrome and the arrows have disappeared!! Thank you!!!

I have another badge that’s not showing – how do I know what bits in the code need changing?

    You’re welcome.

“how do I know what bits in the code need changing?”
Depends on the code. If it’s flash, you can study the post I already linked to:
    http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/07/22/gigya-shortcode-3-widgets/
If you can’t figure it out, paste the code here between backticks (see the note on “Allowed markup”).

This code is exactly like the first one you pasted. You convert it the same way, i.e. by turning this:
    <embed wmode="ETC ETC ETC ETC"> </embed>
    to this:
[gigya wmode="ETC ETC ETC ETC" ]

This doesn’t work either – however I did some digging on the site I got the from, and apparently it doesn’t work on WP for anyone!

Thanks for all your help though.

If it didn’t work I wouldn’t be telling you how it works. Copypaste this and see for yourself:
    [gigya wmode="opaque" src="http://static.ning.com/socialnetworkmain/widgets/index/swf/badge.swf?v=201202272216" flashvars="backgroundColor=0xFF99FF&textColor=0x663300&config=http%3A%2F%2Fsupperclubfangroup.ning.com%2Fmain%2Fbadge%2FshowPlayerConfig%3Fxg_source%3Dbadge%26size%3Dmedium%26username%3D2jqs22kh0ge4a" width="206" height="174" bgcolor="#FF99FF" scale="noscale" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" ]

Well you are a clever so-and-so…in the nicest possible way of course!! ;0)

I thought I did what you’d suggested, but maybe I just don’t have the magic touch!

    What’s your blog called?

If what you tried didn’t work, then you made some mistake: even one missing quotation mark will make the code invalid.
