Thank you for the lack of advertisements

  1. (I don't know where else to submit this.)
I'd just like to thank anyone or everyone who works for WordPress for not letting the site get clouded with advertisements. This is one of the only places on the internet where my mind can focus and explore, and I realized that it's because there are no ads. If there really are ads, I'm not seeing them and that's awesome. Please keep this site as peaceful as you can.

The blog I need help with is

  2. Ummmm ... take a deep breath and read what follows. has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

If we feel an ad is inappropriate we take a screenshot of it and send it to Staff by emailing [email redacted] or upload it into our Media Library and contact Staff and let them know it's there for them to view.

  3. After a conscious look around, I still don't see many ads, if any. Perhaps the lack of evidence of advertisement images is what I should be thanking WordPress for.

  4. I disabled my Firefox adblocker and also ran IE8 (no ad blocker) for over a month and here's what I saw at that time on a popular blog with good traffic flow there were ads below every post on the front page of the blog > Those ads are now history and cince that time Staff have told us they are currently only running mostly youtubes below posts.
Suffice to say as your blog is new and has no traffic flow to speak of or a pagerank as yet it's highly unlikely that you will be seeing ads on it.

  5. BTW if you want tp praise Staff there's a specific place to do that here >

  6. Darn, now I never want my blog to be semi-popular. I wonder how long the obscurity from ads will last.
    Well, thanks for your input.
