Some years ago I probably tried to use WordPress and registered the site address with a very unique username. I’m trying to create a new account (aside the one I’m logged into now) and I want to use that same username so that I have the domain.wordpress.com address specific to that username.

When I got to that address, it says domain.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.

I tried recovering that old account, but I don’t have any of the required proof of ownership. I can’t find a way to directly communicate with WordPress support other than this forum.

How can I get assistance with this issue?

    ~ Thanks

Deleting a blog URL is not easily done and multiple warnings that deletion is intended to be permanent and non-reversible are given all along the way.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
