'The Morning After' Theme - Questions

  1. I've just switched over to 'the morning after' theme, but I have a few questions:

    1. Is it possible to move my Twitter 'follow' button up to the Header Links Menu?

    2. On the right hand side, I have two columns, the right hand side of which has my links to other blogs of interest at the bottom of the pile - I'd like to move them higher up the list, but I'm not seeing how to do that, does anyone have any ideas?

    3. One of the main points about the theme is the use of 'aside' postings... but I've not found anything simple which explains the use of these? When I've tried to use it to link to a blog posting, it returns text from the blog, rather than a link to the blog itself. Can someone point me in the direction of a use of 'aside' and how to use it properly? Please?

    Thanks & Regards,

    1. Is it possible to move my Twitter 'follow' button up to the Header Links Menu?

No I'm sorry it isn't. We cannot embed links in our headers.

2 & 3 are answered in the guide I linked to above.

  3. Cheers Time Thief - 2 out of 3 crystal clear, but I still am finding the 'aside' feature a bit of a mystery after reading both the forum and the help guide... I think I'll just give the feature a miss.

    Thanks again.

  4. Aside – These are brief snippets of text that aren’t quite whole blog posts. Useful for quick thoughts and anecdotes If you click these links you may be able to comprehend "asides" better.

  5. Re 1, you can place your Twitter button next to the header links by pasting this in a Text widget (in the Primary sidebar):

    <div style="top:76px;right:-111px;position:absolute;">
    [twitter-follow screen_name='Mcfaggen']
  6. PS I'm a Mac user, so I can't check if this works in Explorer.

  7. That, my friend panaghiotisadam, is sweeeet. I use Chrome, so a dream.

  8. You're welcome!

I use Safari and Firefox, but about half of the internet users unfortunately use IE, so it's not a dream if the creature can't display this. Better ask a friend to check it, if you have a friend who uses IE. (And then tell them to switch to a decent browser!)

  9. I've just had a look on IE9 and it looks fine.

    Cheers again.

  10. Fine then!
