The tags and categories I made aren't showing up on my site

  1. Hello, I just activated the Lovecraft theme for my travel blog. I've never used tags or categories before but I'd like to start. My first question has to do with the difference between the two (I'm basically looking for something to label a post by the country it was written about, where readers could click on that label to see all the posts about that country).

My second question is, I've tried creating categories and labels for certain posts but neither seems to show up on the published post. I already checked the "Display categories" and "Display tags" boxes on the customizer menu.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is movementandstillness.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi,

See the Categories vs. Tags support page.

I've tried creating categories and labels for certain posts but neither seems to show up on the published post.

On the site https://movementandstillness.wordpress.com/ categories are displayed on the blog page and also on the single posts. Tags only appear on the single posts. This is how they appear on the Lovecraft demo as well. On your site, see for example:

    Categories

    • The category "India" (announced as "In India") beside the author on the post "Wedding part 2 + Panchgani" on the blog page (front page) and on the corresponding single post.
    • The category "North America" on the post "Vermont and Canada," both on the front page and on the single post

    Tag
The tag "India" at the bottom of the single post "Wedding part 2 + Panchgani"

  3. Thanks very much! This was very helpful.

  4. You're welcome!
