Theft of content- or "syndication"?
-
This site posted my entire post, with a bare acknowledgement, and their own advertising- so they make money from it, however little.

They say if I don’t like that, I could always make my blog private, which of course I do not want to do. http://www.socialistnet.net/about/I object. People object to this, surely? Can I stop them, without stopping people coming to my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

They’re lying. This is a classic excuse used by crooks. I refer you to this: http://thecryptosphere.com/2014/07/28/what-to-do-when-someone-steals-your-stuff/
Those guys are not hosted here or dealing with them would be trivial. Send a DMCA to their web host (it’s clear they know they’re stealing because of that mealymouthed “syndication” excuse. You syndicate for your readers to read you, not to facilitate theft).

Actually, they could be weaseling round it. There was no advert on my own content, just on their about page. I wonder if they post content so the owner will visit their about page, so getting them revenue. This is possibly too suspicious of me.

There’s no such thing as too suspicious. File the DMCAs. They’re using your content to draw Google to their site. It’s not your fault they’re not great at monetization.
By the way, the person who stole a post from me and inspired that post I wrote above now has no website, no web host who will deal with him, no Adsense account, and no Chitika account. I’d say it’s even money on whether I made him cry. So this does work.
