  1. Hi, all. I'd like to change my theme..keeping the same format..left side text and photos, custom header - right side widgets etc. First off. you used to be able to preview your blog with each theme before making a final decision and I don't see that option anymore.

Secondly, can anyone recommend a theme that, as I mentioned above.. has the same layout as mine, a custom to the right...everything else to the left?

    Thanks in advance,

The blog I need help with is

  2. 1) The option is still there. Appearance > Themes: below each theme thumbnail there's a "Live Preview" button.
    2) Themes that support a header image listed here:
Themes with a right sidebar listed here (see under "One sidebar" and under "Sidebar(s) plus bottom and/or header"):
Note: newest themes not listed in these posts (see the red note in my sidebar); for the newest themes see here:

  3. Thank you so much, Justpi :)

  4. Ooops..I don't see the live preview option. I see'Live demo', which doesn't put my blog in..and 'Use this Theme'. I even did a search for the word 'preview' and none turned up.

  5. OH, wait..I see it now..I was looking in the new theme link.

    That's the other theme browser.

If, from the Dashboard, you choose: Appearance > Themes
Do you then see a page that says "Manage Themes" with your current theme across the top? Then below you should see thumbnails of the available themes.

Beneath each thumbnail it will say "activate" (or purchase), "LIVE PREVIEW" & "details

Selecting "live preview" gives you the rough sense of the blog under the new theme.

Are you not seeing the choices below the thumbnails?

Oops- sorry- was typing when you posted. :)

  8. more question. The theme 'Twenty Twelve' on the first page..left hand side.. - it says you can put a custom header in, but it looks like you have to pay for it..unless I'm missing something?

  9. No you don't have to pay. You just upload the image in Appearance > Header, as in all other themes that support header images. Note the suggested pixel dimensions.
