I’m looking for a current list of blogs which feature the ability to display author names along with posts for a multi author blog

The blog I need help with is israelleft.com.

Sorry for the error. It should read “current list of themes which feature”

Hi. A helpful volunteer prepared a list :-)

And by the way, for italics, it’s the following tag that you need to use:

As you are setting up a multiple author wordpress.com blog I believe this will be helpful too. > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/12/11/multiple-author-wordpress-blogs/

That list is 2 yrs old. That’s why I asked if there was a more current one. I sure wish this was a feature you could select for when searching through themes.

I’d also like to know what this means:

Pilcrow theme displays brief Author profiles drawn from the user’s Profile page under each post.

I’m using Pilcrow & don’t see how to activate this feature, which would be helpful in a multi author blog.

This list airodyssey pointed to is constantly updated > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

Users > My Profile
on this page is a field titled “About you” what authors enter there is displayed at the end of their posts.

Thanks, for noting the list is updated.

I have info in my About You box but it isn’t displaying in Pilcrow when I view my posts individually (not on the main pg.). As Administrator shouldn’t it automatically add my info to ea. post? Or do I need to have a separate role to get that feature working?

The blog linked to your username leads to a self-hosted WordPress.org install. Are you referring to a blog hosted here on WordPress.com?

WordPress.COM or WordPress.ORG? The difference

@rsintelek please don’t hijack a thread with a completely different topic other than the one being discussed.

For clarity, my previous comment was directed to richards1052.

Sorry about that confusion. I can’t figure out how to edit my profile to add my new WP.com blog which is at http://www.israelleft.com

I have a self hosted blog & the above is a new WP.com blog I’ve just created.

In your Dashboard under Users> Personal Information>Account Details>Website and change it if you wish. If you do, that link is what will appear in your username when you use the forums or comment on any WordPress.com blog when you are logged in or, I believe, any site that uses Gravatar if you use the email address associated with this account.

I don’t know whether I’m blind or just new to WP.com blogs but under Dashboard I don’t see any heading for ‘Users.’ What am I missing?

I see the following:

your Stuff
Recent comments
right now

etc.

No ‘Users’

If you’re talking about “My Public Profile” which does have a section called “Links” for my websites, I have both my wp.com AND wp.org blogs displayed there. But the wp.com blog isn’t displaying in my profile here.

OK, figured it out: it’s actually under “Personal Settings” in the User dropdown box. Got it now. Thanks.

The menus and sub-menus appear along the left side of the screen in your Dashboard. What you are describing are the modules in the main Dashboard screen.

Along the left side you should see:
Dashboard
Upgrades

Posts
Media
Links
Pages
etc

Users is towards the bottom between Appearance and Tools.
