This may sound stupid, but…

Posted in Off-topic about this. Probably should’ve posted here…

I’ve launched a new gaming blog entitled ‘Huttstuff’, complete with an original image of a hutt in an armchair reading a newspaper, that sort of thing.

Would LucasFilms be on our case for using one of the races from Star Wars as the title and infringing on trademark rules or something? What about if we decide to try to gain money through advertising (which is most certainly a hypothetical situation, but still nice to know)?

    Thanks in advance :)

The blog I need help with is

What did the Terms of Use say for using the image? If you don’t comply with them or indeed if the image is under copyright without any Terms of Use and you steal it then you are in violation of copyright law and in violation the Terms of Service.

There is an advertising program called WordAds but blogger initated advertising is not allowed at

If you do require an ecommerce site, advertising and/or affiliate links you can hire a web host and get a free software install from Refer to >

The image was drawn by a friend of mine, I was worried about the use of the name to title the blog, but in retrospect I think I’m alright. I like to panic about geting sued, it seems.

I was not familiar with the advertising rule, though, that’s my fault for getting confused with Blogger. I’ll check that out, though at the start-up stage it’s for reference only. Thanks.

I’m a Volunteer and this is a peer support forum. I’m not making a call on trademark issues. Here are all the links re: no advertising

Alright, thanks, will look over these too.
