    Back in 2007 I created this Blog: <DuneBlog.Wordpress.com>. I did it as I wanted to keep the name – Now I want to use it.
    I logged in and find that I have some problems managing it. I had to change the eMail as it reflected an old one that does not exist anymore. Under Dashboard Me > New QuickPress Post I wanted to post a short text but that doesn’t work. After filling out all three (3) fields it tells me that

      I must fill out all fields

    At the top of my screen I can see I am logged-in (top right) but when I click on Blog (top left) I do not see my Blog name but only Register a Blog.
    If I type the URI DuneBlog.Wordpress.com/wp-admin/ I get following Error (under FF v6):

    Location: jar:file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/<username>/Application%20Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/wpyjak6s.default/extensions/(email redacted)/chrome/speedtest.jar!/content/netError.xhtml

    But under Google Chrome I get another Error:

    “The webpage at http://duneblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.”

    I wrote to Support but no answer.

    Personally I suspect that this is a WordPress Internal Error. Probably due to the fact I created the Blog under an older Version it may now not run properly under the improved one.

    Is there a cure for it?
    Would much appreciate your help. Thank you.

    Both http://duneblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and http://duneblog.wordpress.com/ seem to be working just fine, and I don’t see any errors or redirection loops.

    Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

    Personally I suspect that this is a WordPress Internal Error. Probably due to the fact I created the Blog under an older Version it may now not run properly under the improved one.

    The staff here update the software so you don’t need to so we are always running slightly newer software here than over at .ORG as sometimes changes are test bedded here. So your old blog Posts and everything were updated and just sat there waiting for you to return.

    This was helpful – thanks.

    But now my Dashboard looks different. I can’t see the Me and Blogs on top left side of the screen. So I click on the “W” and go to My Blog. There it ask me to “Register a Blog”.

    But my Blog is DuneBlog.Wordpress.com. Is there anything I missed? Is there One step I still need to go?

    When entering https://DuneBlog.wordpress.com I see there is a blog, but logged-in I can’t do anything except “first” registering a blog.

    What is that Next Step?

    You are probably logged in as a different user than you were when you created duneblog – it looks like the only Post was done by “Eddie” – when logged out try generating a “lost Password Request” for “Eddie” and see if you get an email with the request.

    Other than that probably contact the staff for help: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ – enter anything in the search box then after the search page down for the contact form – note – everything here is keyed off the email address for your account or accounts so having access to the old email will help otherwise you will have a tough sell.

    @auxclass; I have logged-out and logged-in and end up at the same location – on my Dashboard where I see my data and eMail etc. So there is no dual account.

    I noticed something else. When I am logged-in and go to https://DuneBlog.wordpress.com, I have in the menu “go to Admin site”. When I click there I get the same Error I posted before:

    I still believe that there is an internal problem (miss match) within WordPress.com. Prior of posting here I wrote Support and still have no answer from them until now. I am wondering :(

    BTW; I just have one the same process with Opera v10 and get the following Error msg:

    Generated by Opera.

    It looks like that my Blog DuneBlog.Worpress.com is or can not be properly linked internally

    [Update] clicking on http://duneblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ brings me back to the before mentioned Error Message (Redirection Status)

    Can you please try clearing your DNS Cache?

    DNS cleared – DONE
    Cache Cleared – DONE

    No changes – all is the same.

    Regarding http://duneblog.wordpress.com/ – would you be logged-in that account and press Site Admin you surely would also see the Redirection Status Error.

    I appreciate your help but as long Support does not react nothing will be solved. I can’t do it from here. And I can’t say more than what I do see on my screen.
    Any other solutions please?

    Unfortunately, the problem seems to be limited to you and your connection.

    I can access both http://duneblog.wordpress.com/ and https://duneblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ without issue.

    I have unchecked “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages” in your personal settings. You might want to give it a try now, but I doubt that’s the cause.

    Do you have any other computers or networks that you can test from?

    I can try this afternoon with another computer

    Question: when you are logged into my account and see the Dashboard, are you asked to Register a Blog first? If this is the case, then you have the same problem as I have. Further, there is a sample post from 2007, can you Edit that Post? If not you have the same problem as I have.
    But if you can do both of them, then the problem seems to be either related to my Computer or (after testing another computer) it is the problem of Jordan as an option would be that they put up a filter that is creating the problem.

    I can access your Dashboard and edit things without issue, but if you’re seeing “Register a Blog,” perhaps you’re logging in with the wrong username?

    Of course, a country block could be possible too. That’s not unheard of, especially from China, though I haven’t heard of Jordan blocking us before.

    Some of the proxy and VPN resources at http://www.randomwire.com/how-to-bypass-the-great-firewall-of-china may be helpful in your case.

    maxmanX, I have another account and logged into that as I have tried with DuneBlog. Under the other Account I have three registered Blogs. Guess, all was fine! After login I see under My Blogs all the three, I can post etc.

    You have looked at my settings and saw the eMail? Send me a PM to that eMail. I will reply. There is no other account at WordPress under the Name of DuneBlog. A few days back I changed the eMail to the one this now written. The old one is not valid anymore.
    BTW, if you give me a possibility to contact you in private I send you some non public info.

    Conclusion is, that I am not loggedin wrongly as there can’t be two DuneBlog accounts. Also it can’t be a country filter as I can login and manage m other account.

    So what could be the reason?

    The Dashboard is now showing a menu that I was not seeing before when using this account. maxmanX – you twicked something on my account?

    I am at another Computer AND other Network. All the same as on my computer. So it can not be on my side.

    I guess we need to look at other options.

    [after further testing]
    Today I have done further testing. Here what I have done and my findings:
    — I used another Computer
    — I used another provider
    — I used VPN
    — I can and have compared with another account I have (with 3 sites) on this and other Computer and Provider

    So far, DuneBlog.wordpress.com behaves in all instances as described in this treat. I am more and more convinced that DuneBlog is blocked at some point. But as it is also not properly behaving while using VPN, it must be most likely on WordPress Server. But as @macmanx confirmed that he can do everything even editing I am totally confused.
    I can’t do anything as I can’t know where to look from. I strongly hope WordPress.com can do something – also in their own interest I hope.

    I’ve passed this on for input from my co-workers.

    The fact that you get a different error on Firefox and Chrome is odd. Can you try one more time from Safari or Internet Explorer (depending on if you’re using a Mac or PC) just to see what that returns as an error?

    Testing with Safari:
    When I am logged in and at DuneBlog.Wordpress.com and click from there at Site Admin, I hen get the following Error message:

    Safari can’t open the page.
    Too many redirects occurred trying to open “https://duneblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

    That is also what Opera is giving me. The Dashboard is without menu and under My Blogs it tells me to register one.

    Testing with IE:
    Same procedure as above. Here the result:

    This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

    •Internet connectivity has been lost.
    •The website is temporarily unavailable.
    •The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
    •The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website’s domain.
    •There might be a typing error in the address.
    •If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

    with IE I have a button that reads Diagnose Connection Problem. When I click on this I get:
    All connectivity is fine and without any problems.
