Title Not Showing in RSS Feed
I created my own banner for my blog, Italian Dish Knits, so I didn’t want the Site Title under “General ” settings to show. Yet if I do not have a site title, in my RSS feeds to subscribers, it says “Title Unknown”.
Is there a way to have the title go out to my subscribers, but not show below my banner, which already shows my title in the image I created for the banner.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
The blog I need help with is italiandishknits.com.
Search engine spider bots cannot read any text in images and that’s why it’s essential to have a blog title here > Settings > General Without it appearing there the search spiders will not index your site. It’s also important that the blog title is the only H1 heading appearing on your page. If you look i here you can see which themes here have the option to hide the title text. The theme you use Tarski does not provide the option of not displaying the blog title http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/header-images/
But my site already shows up in a Google search, so they must be indexing it.
They maybe indexing posts but not the site and how long will that continue? I would not play around with this. The RSS feed cannot display what does not exist and at this point your blog title does not exist. You need to place it here > Settings > General and if you don’t like the blog title being display then you can simply switch to another theme that allows the option to hide the blog title text.
Do you know how I would search for a theme which has the option to hide the title text? That doesn’t seem to be a tag within the themes search. Thank you.
Yes :) See here for a complete list of themes that do or do not have the option of hiding blog title text > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/header-images/
Thank you. I appreciate your help. I will go through the list right now.
You’re most welcome. :)
