Title – overlay on background pic

My title sits below the background picture. Is it possible to have the title in top of the background pic?

Also, I seem to have the background pic behind everything so it shows a bit at the top and right at the bottom of the page. Have I put it in twice somehow – I think the one behind may be tiled. Can I remove the one behind – I don’t see how I need that extra one.

The blog I need help with is chiantinotes.com.

I should have used the term ‘Header’. I’d like to have the title sitting on the header. Possible?

Also, I found how to get rid of the background one. Dashboard/Appearance/Background.

OK, so I edited text onto a picture then uploaded it as the header. I don’t know if there’s another way but this will do.

One thing I can tell you is that how the blog title will display with your header will vary considerably by theme. You can edit your theme files (or create a child theme) to display your title over your header image, or you can upload an image as you have done.
