To upgrade or not to upgrade
-
Hi there!
We’re currently running off a basic WordPress.com site and would like some more flexibility (adding plug-ins, retrieving Google Analytics, installing GoogleAds, adding forms to collect email addresses etc) and would like to find out:
1. Are these things possible with a basic WordPress.com site?
2. If we need to upgrade, what will be available to us after the upgrade, and what is the cost annually for the upgrade?
3. What is the difference between WordPress.com sites and WordPress.org sites, and how do we know which is right for us (we have very minimal back-end knowledge)?
4. If we need to switch to WordPress.org for more back-end control, how do do this?
Thank you!!

You need to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting and set up a self hosted wordpress.ORG software install. See here please https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/
We provide support here only for blogs hosted by WordPress.COM and that site is not among them. We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
