Too much space in drop-down menu (Truly Minimal theme)

    Just switched from retired theme to Truly Minimal, and I’m finding there’s a lot of space between items in the drop-down menus, which makes them hard to read (also the text spills over the edge of the drop-down bar). Any help in lessening the space would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is

    Hi @robertsjo,

    Pĺease, give this a try:

    .navigation-main ul ul a {
        padding: 0.25em 0;
        width: auto;

    You can adjust the space between the menu items by tweaking the “0.25em” value to your taste. Additionally, I believe the “width: auto” bit solves the spilling over problem.

    Many thanks, Fabian — that looks so much better.

    Any idea how to “hide” some pages? I’d like to get rid of all the drop-down menus except the one under ARTWORKS — people will then access the other child pages just from links on the pages in the menu bar (eg. under CHRONOLOGY, the “TALK GIVEN IN CONVERSATION WITH LUIS CAMNITZER” is a link. This was easy to do in the previous, now-retired theme, Toolbox. But when I try it here, if I remove the word Parent in Page Attributes, the page jumps up into the main menu bar, as the Camnitzer page has done. Do you have any suggestions? I haven’t been able to find anything online. Many thanks!!

    Hey again,

    Truly Minimal supports Custom Menus, so you can organize, add and remove items in your navigation bar through the Appearance → Menus page in your dashboard. Take a look at this page for information about Custom Menus and how to use them:

    I believe you might have the “Auto add pages” option selected in Menu Settings. When this option is selected, new pages are automatically added to your navigation bar when you create them. See

    Thanks so much, Fabian! That’s great. I really appreciate all your help!

    You are welcome, I’m happy to help :)
