The Top Posts & Pages widget should favorize featured images (if available) when its display settings are set to image list or image grid.

In its current state the widget displays a random image from the post or page which doesn’t look very appealing most of the time.

The blog I need help with is

This actually sounds like a really good idea. I don’t use images in my top posts and pages widget but I can see why this would be a decent suggestion. I wonder if there’s a way of changing this already, though I’m sure one of the mods would be able to answer?

    Anyway, seconded! :)

I’m not with you guys on this. Here is why. My blogs predate the introduction of the “likes” button so that setting on the Top Posts and Pages widget is useless to me.

I use a theme (expound) that has featured images here I display them temporarily only, then I edit and remove them. I don’t intend to purchase a space upgrade to accommodate larger images in the future.

The adjustment I would make to the Top Posts and Pages widget if I could would be to reduce the size of the image display when we choose that option. I think the “thumbnails” are too big and I know they slow down page loading time so I don’t even use that widget at all on my blogging tips blog.

P.S. I forgot to say that I don’t care whether or not Staff introduce this, that, or the other new feature. I care only that we have the ability to opt out of each and every one of them.

Oh aye, opting in and out is always a wonderful function. I wouldn’t want to impress my Wp-esque opinions on anyone else as much as I wouldn’t want anyone else’s being forced on me. thistimethisspace, the voice of reason as always! :)
