I am trying to transfer my existing domain to wordpress as a new web host so that I can use word press tool to update my existing domain. I cant find the link to move my existing domain to wordpress as a new host. I did unlock and make my domain public for the time being. Where do I go to transfer my domain to Word Press?

Mapping an existing domain is not done free of charge. WordPress.COM does not accept domain transfers by mapping to an existing domain is possible. Domain mapping replaces the .wordpress.com URL with the domain URL. You must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered the .wordpress.com site to upgrade.

If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account

    re: purchasing upgrades

WordPress.com provides free blogs and hosts them free of charge. There are no bandwidth charges. All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. Free features are listed here https://en.wordpress.com/features/

We have 4 different plans: free, personal, premium and business. All hosting is free regardless of which plan you choose. You can view all wordpress.com plan features here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ Add a plan for each of your sites here: http://store.wordpress.com/plans/.

    Details:
There are no monthly payment plans and no bulk deal upgrades. We are billed annually. Also note that purchase orders are not accepted. We must pay for all upgrades in full at the time of purchase.

WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ The domain or mapping of any existing domain URL is included in the pricing for a personal upgrade, a premium and a business upgrade.

Premium upgrades do not include any premium themes which are all individually priced one time upgrades. The Business upgrade includes access to all premium themes but also note that there is no e-commerce capability under any plan here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/small-business-website-1?replies=2#post-2804631.

What domain mapping does is providing a seamless redirect to the very same content under the new domain URL when a person clicks the old URL .wordpress.com to the original content. It can take up to 72 hours for domain propagation to take place throughout the internet but it doesn’t usually take that long. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. ok. Thank you. How do I upgrade? I don’t see the link within my Word press account to upgrade in order to try to map my existing domain.

You have to register an underlying .wordpress.com site to map from to a domain first.

To sign up for your first WordPress.com site, simply fill out the signup form.

Ok. Two questions: I see the pricing of $25 a month partner with Pressable. But I also see 4 plans of WordPress flavor starting from free , $2.99, $8.25 to $25.92? What is the difference?

2nd question: By mapping my existing domain, I would be getting out of my existing host plan so that I am not paying on both hosts, right? I am just not clear on the concept of “mapping”.

I see the pricing of $25 a month partner with Pressable.

Pressable is for WordPress.ORG software installs on paid hosting. There is no connection at all between Pressable and WordPress.COM.

Make sure you read the comparison very closely do you know exactly what the restrictions and limitations on WordPress.COM blogging are: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.ORG software installs are not on WordPress.COM servers.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, passwords support docs and support forums, and many people get confused about the two.

The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.

Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/

Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack

However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
See also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/ for app support.

When I clicked on the start page you sent me and start building my first website, the $25 a month with Pressable came up. It says” Host your WordPress site and use your own theme for
as low as $25 a month”. I don’t see any way around it. I am confused about this. All I want to do is to find a web host that provides flexible, easy to use web building tool to maintain my current domain. My current web host doesn’t have a user friendly website builder tool and is tilted more toward business listing with tabs on the top that I don’t want. Can you clarify please? Thank you. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
