    Hi,

I’ve recently came across the fact that, their are two WordPress platforms.
The on in which i’ve purchased, is wordpress.com, which from what I have read does not allow you to put in custom theme and gain complete control over the appearance and changing code.

    Where as the wordpress.org does.

I really would like to find out how to transfer my existing WordPress.com into a wordpress.org as I Do not need a wordpress.com anymore.

    is this possible?
    Blog url: http://nashakaratv.wordpress.com/

The blog I need help with is nashakaratv.com.

If you’re interested, we do offer an upgrade called Guided Transfer (available in the Store section of your blog’s Dashboard) where we take care of everything for you: http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

Otherwise, you’ll need to install WordPress from http://wordpress.org/ on a hosting provider. We have some recommendations at http://get.wp.com/hosting/

Then, direct your domain to your new hosting provider by changing the nameservers: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

Once that’s done, you can move your content following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

    Hi ,

I need to set a pin for validation, in order to log into my domain area.
Could you please assist me on this, as the instructions tell me to call WordPress, but I cannot find a phone number to do so.

Hi I am able to get to that section of the name server as it wont allow me past the following window:

    ——–

    Account Security when Calling Us
Please create a 4-digit PIN number for your account.

Your Call-in PIN is a 4-digit number you supply to the Customer Service Representative when you call us, so we can validate your identity and customer account. Your PIN should be easy for you to remember but difficult for others to figure out and should be one that someone with access to your personal information could not guess. For example, we recommend avoiding use of your birthdate or part of your phone number, street address, or ZIP code. Also, you may not use any straight numerical sequences that a malware program might attempt, such as 1234 or 1111.

This PIN is only used to verify your identity and account information. You cannot use your PIN to access your accounts online.

The theme you were using is a theme created by us and only available on WordPress.com.

I;ve found a suitble theme for the meantime.
But some images have not loaded correctly when importing the files over.

Also the Videos that I embedded are not showing at all on the new server / theme, why is this? all that is showing is the youtube web address, rather then the actual video that once was playing.

Could you please send me a link of the page where you see the not correctly loaded images?

Regarding the videos, at WordPress.com we automatically convert YouTube links and show them as video instead. If you want this functionality on your self-hosted WordPress.com, we recommend you to use Jetpack.

Jetpack supercharges your website with features like easy video embedding, stats, and Twitter and Facebook sharing tools.

Hi heres a link to two pages where the images are not loading.

    http://nashakaratv.com/?p=472
    http://nashakaratv.com/?p=467

http://nashakaratv.com/?m=201207&paged=1 << Majority of images at the bottom are no displaying.

The images on the first post seem to be fine, as for the second, the video itself is not loading.

As for the images in the second link, they appear to have not been brought over.

We can only guarantee the quality of the export file, which appears to be fine, and can’t directly help with import issues on self-hosted WordPress.org blogs.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.

    Hi,

there is a major glitch with our new self hosted wordpress.
When refreshing the website, after making changes, the old WordPress template loads up sometimes.
Which is highly concerning as this website should no longer be seen.

The second issue is that our self hosted wordpress, suddenly takes way too long to load the website. sometimes up to 30seconds + .
This was not happening yesterday, what could be slowing the website down?

as the images have not changes since yesterday or added.

Can you please try clearing out your cache? This might help to fix your “old template” problem.

Your site is a self-hosted installation of WordPress, available at WordPress.org. If you’re having problems with a site not hosted with WordPress.com, we may not be able to help. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

You can find support for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress here and here.

I’ve installed the ‘Audio player’ plug in.
but the new plugin does not appear to be held on the kitchen sink area when I try to add a new post. ( it does appear anywhere at all on the new posts window).

Secondly, is there a way to turn my current WP into a Vblog website.
For example, when posting youtube links into post, I would like a thumbnail version to appear on the website. The click on that thumbnail to take you into the post to display a bigger version of the video.
Is there a way to do this? or is there a plug-in that allows me to do this?
as i’ve tried several and none of them seem to do what I want
