Transfer to .org

  1. Hi,

I am installing it manually with filezilla. I am following this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzidHr0swz8

I have tried using my site host install before but i only get the wordpress.com version not the .org.
The part i get stuck on is when ive completed the file transfer and i go onto google and type weava-a-thought.com/wp-admin/install.php i cant get the install page, it just comes up with page not found or my old .com blog.

    What do i do?
How can i transfer to .org?

    Kind Regards,
    Dani

The blog I need help with is weava-a-thought.com.

  2. You can learn how to get started with a self-hosted WordPress site over at the Codex - http://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPress - if you decide that's the route you want to take. We do not provide support for that here at WordPress.COM.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
